Here I sit on International womens day….I can still get this in just under the wire…lol….sorry I was busy today with painting out my windows. I got a message from a man who I call a friend, Rob Bennett, sorry Rob if I am to embarrass you but you are one of the good ones. I recently was sexually harassed by a man who reached out to me on Linkedin to discuss a job opportunity, turns out, there was no job but the disgusting texts that man sent me was off the chart. I tried to pretend it did not bother me and decided to face this man in person and told him in no uncertain terms that what he did was indeed disgusting and I hope that no man ever does to his daughters what he did to me.

I know men will say they are disgusted by this mans behaviour and for some of you that is probably true but for those who have been party to this behaviour or watched idly by while a man talks about a woman in such a way. You are not only contributing to this but you are indeed part of the problem.
I have been called difficult or a Bitch because I have stood up for myself and others who were too afraid to. Let me give you some examples and I want you to know none of this is embellished. I have had men comment on different body parts of mine and I sat and said nothing because I was afraid. I have been paid less then my male counterparts even though I was a better sales rep then all my male counter parts and spoke out and said this is unacceptable and was called difficult because I demanded to be paid the same. I had a boss who hit on me and said he would like some alone time with me in a sauna. I had a client who said I would not get the contract unless I slept with him, I told his boss and well as we all know not much happened in all these cases.

These are just a few of the things that I and many other women endure every single day. I said to a man recently I would love to be treated fairly and the same as a man but I know this is a pipe dream. I have given up on dating because men do not treat women very nice and I have zero desire any more for bad behaviour. Some of you may think in this day and age, can it really be all that bad…..unfortunately yes….yes it is still bad. I and many women like me, we just want to do a good job and not be hit on or harassed when we go into work.

Today is International womens day and I still believe there are great men out there who support women in all that we do, it gives me hope…men like Rob Bennett give me hope because I do know without men like him it would be worse. What do I want to say to all the men out there….be like Rob….Help women because we Do need your help….you will never know the difference you will make in some womans live, by supporting her and helping her when she needs encouragement. Thank all the great women in your life because without them you would not be here……Thanks all
