Many of you know me for the hardworking salesperson that I am, outspoken…yes, Honest…definitely, solid work ethic with integrity…absolutely.  I am also a person…a Mom, a runner and well a person who calls it like it is.  I call it like it is that in many ways well…..hmmm…many cannot handle it.  Just recently a man who just got divorced (for the second time btw),  everyone told him not to marry her….Gold Digger.  She was way more than 20 years his junior and when he said she changed after they were married….Yeah no she didn’t, again you just choose to believe what you wanted to.  Guess what he is now dating another woman more than 20 years his junior, oh and the marriage ended less than a year ago…I will say this…who would date such a man just fresh out…I will tell you….another Gold digger.  Oh and btw…her name is the same as his ex…hahaha…maybe that makes things easier….lol  Well enough about the stupidity of men with too much money and clearly no brains.  I know we will not be friends after this….because some people as Jack would say cannot handle the Truth.

Now to all the hardworking sales people out there, this is dedicated to you.  I myself have worked hard all my life, I grew up with a strong work ethic and have never faltered.  I will always do the right thing and be honest in all that I do.  Not everyone appreciates honesty, if only they did.

I was approached recently again by a recruiter who claims to have this Great Opportunity for me.  You know what they say if something sounds too good….exactly…it is not.  She approached me and asked if we could converse…again,  not job description or OTE.  I had to ask 3 times and she finally relented.  I said no thank you that is for a Junior Rep and good luck….this is where she got upset.

I want to say to all those who think Sales is so easy then perhaps walk a mile in our shoes.  We may make it look easy but I can assure you it is not.  There are times when you are at the office well past 5, preparing a presentation at home or getting up early to put the final points together.  We work very hard all the while walking a tight rope with internal operations to ensure the roll out goes well.  I remember one Christmas Eve finishing a sale, and this was well past 6pm so do not assume we go to lunch and cash a big fat pay cheque….because if we do….we earned it.

So for this recruiter to be hostile because I was not willing to work for basically free then I say to you this…for me and all the hardworking Sales Reps.  We are human beings and do not deserve to be treated like we are lower than you just because we are not willing to settle.  We respect what we do and we are professional sales executives.  When we pass on your great opportunity because it is not much above what someone would make at a McDonalds then respect that.

I know that many companies are taking advantage of a large out of work population and for that it saddens me and when things turn around those people will leave because they took the job because they were desperate.

If there are some recruiters out there who have some senior sales roles please get in touch and for all those hardworking sales reps out there, keeping killing it, and if anyone thinks we do nothing, take them on a ride along when we get back to normal..  thanks everyone…I can be reached at 403 660 8526 if anyone has a senior sales ex roles.

As for the guy in the story above….I am sure he will marry this one as well…and then be thrice divorced.  I will say this when you are over 60 and dating way outside your age bracket…have a healthy wallet, the ride will be short, have fun, but do not think it will last or she is in it because you are a great conversationalist….lol
